About the Author

I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina; 7 out of 11 children.  My parents divorced when I was very young and I experienced some of the generational curses that I later experienced in my own life, i.e. domestic violence. I served over 27 years in the United States Air Force and was able to achieve the highest enlisted rank only obtained by 1%  of the force.  Education:  Doctor of Divinity Degree,  Ambassador Bible College;  Doctoral Management Candidate, Organizational Leadership – University of Phoenix, Dual Masters of Art Degree in Human Resources Management/Human Resources Development – Webster University; B.S. Degree – Human Resource Management – Southern Wesleyan University; Associate of Arts Degree – Human Resource Management/Personnel Administration – Community College of the Air Force (CCAF);  Received numerous prestigious awards too many to list.  Serves on the Trustee Board, lifelong member of Greater St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church.  Serve as a Sunday School teacher.  Member of and associated with numerous civic organizations to include recently elected as the International President of the Imperial Court Daughters; members and past leader of Order of the Eastern Stars, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., advocate and public speaker of Domestic Violence.  Married for 35+ years, proud parent of 4 children, 7 grand children and 3 great grandchildren.

Karen is a Retired Veteran of 27 years, 8 months and 14 days from the United States Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank only obtained by 1 % of the force. Karen is also retired from Civil Service with over 21 years of service as a civil service employee. Chief Chisolm is noted as being the first black and first female to serve as Superintendent of the 315th Mission Support Squadron on Charleston Air Force Base. Chief Chisolm’s principal duties included leading and mentoring airmen on the importance of professional military education for a successful military career. Chief Chisolm’s last 4 years on Active Duty was served at the Pentagon.Currently, Karen is an advocate and public speaker of Domestic Violence and is an Author who has contributed to two books along with other female authors, which have been noted as #1 Best Selling Authors, Camouflaged Sisters Silent No More – “You Deserve Life”; Authors of the 2nd Book in which Karen is a part of - Camouflaged Sisters – Leadership through the Eyes of Senior Military Women Leaders – “Mentoring Is Critical To Your Success” as was recently recognized as #1 Best Selling Authors, Amazon Bestselling Authors, Amazon Hot New Release, #1 in United States, Military Veterans History, #1 in United States Veterans History, #3 in Military & Spies Biographies & #5 in Business Leadership.Karen is the sole author of “You Deserve Life” published late November, 2021.Karen is the President and CEO of 2 -501C3 Non-Profit Organizations; Boots-2-Heels, South Carolina Chapter which helps female veterans transition form the military to the workforce by providing them with the necessary skills to succeed in the civilian sector. Providing resume writing, interviewing techniques and dressing for success. The second 501C3 - Non-Profit - "A Centralized Moment -The Focus Is You" which is a weekly zoom meeting hosted since March 2020 in and effort to allow women stuck in their homes with their abusers during the peak of COVID-19 has continued and grown in to a mass means of women coming together in support of each other.
